|

Since the October release of the Safety Cameras, instructions have now changed for Navman users running V3 software which includes the V3 software itself (not yet released), iCN510, iCN635 and iCN650.
These instructions can be found here. |

I've looked at the instructions and one thing puzzles me, what does the Navman "say" as the audible warning? I can see were you put in the bmp file that gives the symbol for a camera, but I would have expected a wav or something for the audio alarm, or am I missing something.
thanks |

Sorry, just seen the answer to my own question, its an audible chime, not a verbal warning |

|
|
Dave, Just downloaded the latest Speed Camera database - POIs and installed.
In the download, there is another folder with .wav files for audio speed limits, warnings of approach to cams etc. etc.
Can I intall/use these on my Navman iCN510 If so, how do I do so. At the moment, all that I have installed is those files NOT in the speed zoned folder.
Thanks

You cannot use the warning sounds, unfortunately. The SmartST V3 software only allows for one sound to be played for all the Custom POIs.
You can, however, use the speedzoned .csv files and associate them with their own .bmp files. If you do this, first remove the Mobile and Gatso POIs, or you will have the information duplicated. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for prompt response, Tim. Will accept the present set-up as it is more than adequate for my needs.

Upon following all the instructions for loading the Gatso sites onto my 510 I get the following message. NO POI'S FOUND IN INPUT FILE. Anybody have any ideas on what to do next? |

Reread the instructions! If it doesn't work by following the instuctions to the letter, it's possible that the download has been corrupted. _________________ Tim |

|

Erroneiously posted this in the 510 forum. Could you help?
Great service but in the instructions this month, it says only use the csv files for the Navman whereas I've always included the bmp files in my install. Could someone clarify, please.
FTB I have also installed the appropriate bmp files but wondered if it is only necessary to update the csv files on the assumption that the 'old' bmp files remain active. _________________ Gee-Pee

To the latter question yes you should just update the csv file and it will use the same bitmap.
On a side note I notice if you look at the ini files relating to these POIs there is a default sound set so this would suggest putting the relavent sound file within the windows folder and ammending the last line of the ini file would produce individual sounds for each type of camera encountered. |

Forgot to mention,if the database were split into speed zones it should be possible to play a different speed warning for each too i.e. "warning 30 mile speed limit" |

If you have downloaded the full instructions - see Dave's post at the beginning of this thread, then you should be able to load the POI's on your Navman. Remember, there are only six individual csv files to load plus the appropriate bmp files (the speed camera icons) OR the simplest way is to use the single combined Zip file which contains everything.
