Seems a real affordable alternative, wondered if anyone has one of these or any opinions before I buy one on Thursday :D |

This is a good system for anyone stepping into the world of GPS.
Take a look here for views from user who bought one last time yhey were on sale.
A search for Aldi and medion will reveal other discussions. _________________ Ian.

Those comments were about a completely different model of PDA (slightly slower clock speed and somewhat different in appearance), with a separate GPS 'mouse' (so requiring a more complex cable arrangement), rather than the integrated unit in this offer.
But I do agree that it's a cracking good deal !
If I hadn't succumbed to this previous offer, I'd be getting one myself ! _________________ Getting older and more senile by the minute !

Check up on Aldi's one year no quibble refund policy. Depending on which of the previous offers you succumbed to you may well still be inside the one year period.
At least one user of this forum returned a previous Aldi/Medion GPS unit for a full refund before picking up the newer model. She was even asked if she'd like to reserve the new machine.
Given that the previous offers were at £270 and this one is at £250 you'd be getting a newer machine with a newer version of the software and putting £20 back in your pocket.
Other sites seem to indicate that the new version is using TeleAtlas rather than Navtech mapping data behind the re-badged Navigon software. It might be an idea to buy the new device, parallel run for a while and then return the machine you're least happy with. |
