i'm thinking about getting one of the new window mobile 2003 smartphones (audiovox smt 5600). will the belkin gps work with it? I can put a sd card in the phone so memory won't be a problem. |

It's not so much a problem of the BT receiver, it is more an issue with the BT stack on the phone. The newer 2003SE phones seem to lack some of the configuration options, resulting in the unability to configure the outgoing serial port. Make sure the Audiovox is not one of them.
All the receiver needs to support is a pairing code. Even though that is not required for GPS operation, the Smartphones are paranoid about security and only accept connections from paired (bonded) devices). This means that BT GPS receivers that do not have a pairing code (like the Deluo Blackbox) cannot be used with Smartphones. _________________ Lutz

Pairing is just the first step. The Smartphone must then also expose the outgoing serial port. Only then you can be certain that the software will wokr (but that second condition is independent from the receiver and the software, it's solely dependant on the Smartphone) _________________ Lutz
