I'm currently trialling the latest (but not the beta) version of GPSGate.
I'm using Navigator on a Medion MD41800 PDA with a RoyalTek Sapphire (wired) GSP mouse (the later ALDI setup), running at 4800 baud.
When I route through GPSGate (amending Navigator to take its input from Virtual Port 7, which is set up within GPSGate), the lock comes and goes about every 5 seconds.
The 'G' on the PPC icon bar remains green all the time, so the GPS itself hasn't lost its lock, it's just Navigator no longer getting data.
If I disable GPSGate and alter Navigator to use serial port 0, I get a solid continous lock.
I haven't got any other applications running.
Has anyone else come across this problem ?
I was intending to have a free speed camera warning program running at the same time as Navigator.
In fact, it does actually work, but the intermittent nature of the lock means the the map software gets confused and only updates on screen every 30 seconds or so.
I've checked the GPSGate website and forums, where I can see several people having difficulties with GPSGate, but there's nothing mentioned that I haven't already tried !
Any ideas ? _________________ Getting older and more senile by the minute !

I have used GpsGate v1.10 Beta successfully using an iPAQ 2210, bluetooth receiver with smartSTv2 and Travel-i LITE running concurrently.
The setup worked well with Travel-i in the background, the camera alerts came through when approached.
I would try the Beta version to see if that works better for you. _________________ Ian.

Thanks for the reply, icsys.
Could you tell me what Virtual Port you use for each application, please ?
Or do you set both applications to use the same Virtual Port ?
Or do you have just 1 Virtual Port set up for the speed camera software, with the GPS software 'piggy-backed' on the Input Port, sharing with GPSGate ?
One of the 'connection' diagrams I've seen somewhere shows this, but I couldn't get it working that way, either !
I'll try the Beta version, but I'd still like to know what works for you, please ! _________________ Getting older and more senile by the minute !
