Future Proof?

I am bidding on an Ipaq 2210 on ebay. We have Tomtom go but may need an extra sat nav in the near future. That is a lie really, I just can't resist more gadgets.
I know I can add GPS to this pda, I just want to know if it is a good choice given that there are tons of Ipaqs on offer. I originally wanted a pda just for photo display and text reading as I have many technical manuals to digest on my computer. However, the more I delve in to it, I would like to make the correct choice for future expansion.

the 2210 is actually one of the better units for GPS. You can connect serial, CF or BT receivers, and you have two storage card slots available (SD and CF). Go for it.

Ditto, I spent ages deciding which PDA to go for as I am not paticularly interested in it as a PC mainly as a sat nav device. 2210 won hands down for me for the reasons Lutz has said and I won one new for £160 on ebay...
