I bought the Kane Car Pilot package last week (bargain price from Argos!), which includes the RGM-2000 receiver. Rather than use the Car Pilot software I want to use it with TomTom3.
However I am unable to get the receiver to work with the iPaq 5450 (running pocket pc 2003).
Although I've read elsewhere on this site that the RGM-2000 doesn't connect directly to this model iPaq, I contacted RoyalTek today who said that it should be ok. (Although their e-mails weren't very clear!).
Can anyone pleeeease advise?
I've installed all the TomTom upgrades, i.e. to 3.03 and all of the iPaq firmware upgrades but TomTom Navigator still fails to pick up the receiver. (Settings: NMEA 0183v2 4800 on any port makes no difference).
(I realise if was to roll back the iPaq OS to Pocket PC 2002 I could get probably use it with the Car Pilot software but this is not something I want to do. TomTom looks much better).
Cheers

It should work out of the box on COM1 . Are you sure you don't have any keyboard drivers or other blocking software installed? _________________ Lutz

Nothing blocking the port that I'm aware of, - never used an external keyboard or anything with it. Other than sync'ing, the receiver is the first thing I've plugged into the iPaq.
Tried Winfast Navigator since my initial post, but this fails to get data from the receiver also.
Any suggestions?

Has anyone got the combination I mentioned in my original post working successfully together?
i.e. iPaq 5450 (pocket pc 2003), RGM-2000 & TT3
The receiver was straight out the box from new last week, but I'm now concerned that it may be faulty.
Was planning on rolling the iPaq back to Pocket PC 2002 to see if it makes any difference but RoyalTek are adamant that it should work fine with 2003.
Another thought, - is the power light on the cigarette adaptor plug meant to blink all the time it is in use, or remain constantly on? The light blinks intermittently at the minute. The iPaq charges as intended.
Cheers
