From the MEDION UK website:
Registry Patch PDA MDPPC200 Series
This reg patch improves the system stability while operating with the navigation software of the PDA MDPPC200 series (MD 40600, 40746).
The reg patch improved sync issues for me and stopped the system 'hanging'. I don't know what the Battery Patch is for but shall load it up and let you know! _________________ Darren Griffin |

How is it that the patches are only on the German web site?
Also I have finaly been contacted by Medion who state that the synch problems are due to users using versions of Outlook other than Outlook 2002.
Outlook xp for all office xp fans is not compatible and will cause synch problems. Shame they didn't say this 5 months ago. Then again if aint compatible with future versions of office and outlook then its no good! |

They are on the UK Site as well, GoTo 'Downloads' and search for '40600' under MD Number.

The version of Outlook in Office XP is Outlook 2002! If you don't believe me, check for yourself (Help -> About Microsoft Outlook). Though the suites are called Office XP, all the components in them are 2002 versions.
Usually, so long as you have a supported version of Outlook (which, at the moment, means Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003 - I think support for Outlook 98 has been dropped), you're OK in that department. That doesn't mean that ActiveSync doesn't cause headaches for other reasons, though.

Something must be different in my version of Outlook XP, it will not allow synch. If I install Outlook 2002 from the Medion disc, synch is possible ( but difficult to start). The problem is that the installation replaces Office XP with Microsoft Works, so Word and Excel are deleted (even though Word is part of Works). I have to choose between being able to synch or using Office XP. |
