There is no timeline for this. My estimate is that TomTom will issue a Navigator 4 with new maps around CeBit time (march 05) _________________ Lutz

I actually wonder if it will be Navigator 4 or if the release will jump to 5 as we already have a 4.40 in the field. This might be the point when all the hardware platforms merge. Just speculation on my part. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Or it could be called Tomtom Navigator 2004. Pity there doesn't appear to be a software-only option. _________________ Tim |

Well, they obviously want to participat ein the holiday season money collection...Why don't they call it TTN 2005?
Anyhow, the real bummer is that the US maps are still exactly the same as had been delivered with TTN 2.24. I would reall y have expected that after so many months they could have invested in new maps. _________________ Lutz

Now this is very interesting. This is the first view of the TomTom common navigation engine in a PocketPC variant. I wonder how it will be received by TomTom 2 users (or UK TomTom 3 users). I have been playing around with a version for the UK over the last couple of weeks. It has a smaller feature list than the Full blown PDA Navigator versions, but (arguably) a better user interface.
One thing that I did notice on the web site is a reference to "Detailed Maps of the USA and Canada provided on CD" however the map coverage shown on the website is still that for mainland USA. _________________ Mike Barrett |
