Hi Guys,

I have just upgraded from a Medion PPC250 to a Mio 168 as I wanted an intergrated GPS unit. I have successfully loaded the software I got with Medion (3.1 aka Navigon?) but I can't get a GPS signal. When I go into the settings in the software I get a choice of the following options for GPS;

Serial Cable on COM1
Serial Cable on SP2
IrCOMM
Native IR
USB Cable

Please can anyone advise me which to pick to get the built in GPS doofer on the 168 to respond?

I am getting a little worried in case their is a fault with my new 168.

Many thanks in advance,

Eric.

Either try SP2 or see if you can explicitly select the Mitac Mio GPS (like you can in OnCourse Navigator)

The GPS is at COM2, either 4800 or 9600 bps (depends on the make)

Hello Eric,

On the Medion 95000 (rebranded mio168) using Navigon 4.2 software the settings are shown as follows in the Navigon settings menu:

Type of receiver: Standard GPS

COM-Port: COM1:

Baud: 4800 - this is greyed out, can not changed

Hello Eric,

Forgot this, if i tap the Com-Port - it says:

COM1: Serial Cable on SP2:

There are other options show, but that is the one that works, and was the default setting when i purchased the unit.
