I've recently upgraded to Copilot Live Pocket PC 5 from a previous version.
I tried to follow the instructions but the scenario they take you through was not what I found on my PDA. Consequently I seem to have messed something up.
When I reset the PDA I now get Cannot find 'ConfigStarter' and the application won't start up 'Unable to open Copilot. Please make sure the compact flash card is inserted or that the data has been properly downloaded'.
I've googled for configstarter.exe and it came back with nothing !
Should I try and reinstall again from scratch or is there an easier fix.
Thanks.
(I've also asked ALK support but am hoping this will be quicker) |

You are safer if you re-install from scratch. Make sure you remove all traces of the old version and of the failed attempt.
have a look at the \windows\startup folder. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the advice Lutz,
I've tried reinstalling and still get the same problem.
Not sure what you mean by :
Quote: | have a look at the \windows\startup folder. |
there is a shotcut file in there called configstarter that points to \windows\configstarter.exe which doesn't exist. Don't know how I could have deleted it during my first attempt ?? |

just remove the shortcut file so it won't bother you during soft resets. _________________ Lutz

Bloody hell - it only worked - you're a genius. :P
But do I need to be worried that the underlying .exe has mysteriously disappeared ? i.e. it must have been there for a reason. |
