Tomtom mobile software only option ?

Hi all does anyone know if tomtom mobile will be available as a software only product as i dont fancy buying another tt bluetooth gps unit.

My understanding of the TomTom Mobile security is that the application will only work with a TT BT GPS receiver. In theory there is no reason that TT should not release a software only version, but I am wondering if there is really a market for this.

Most people will be new users with no TomTom equipment, so I expect that TomTom will not create a software only version.
