|
Hi,
Do you know if there is there a way to convert the *.csv into *.pvg format to use with Encarta World Atlas? This is the only PC based app I have access to now :-(
World Atlas can only import *.pvg files!
Many Thanks,
Oliver. |

I should clarify that I was referring to the "safety camera.csv" data primarily, but this would also apply to any POI / Waypoint data. |

A little trial and error and I found a long-ish workaround...
1) Create *.csv
2) Import into old version of Auto Route Express (I used v98)
3) Export from ARE as PushPin *.pxe
4) Rename *.pxe to *.pvg
5) Import into MS World Atlas (I am using v2001 DVD)
Newer version of Autoroute (and Streets & Trips) do not support the export function.
If anyone needs a *.csv converting into a Push Pin file let me know and I'll hapilly do the deed for you.
Cheers,
Oliver. |

Are the *.pvg files text files. If they are then please send a sample to me and I will look at adding it to my POIConverter program.

Oliver,
Thank you for sending the files. The pvg file is a binary file and without a definition of its format I will not be able to create it. Also as Microsoft does not release the format of their files I don't think that there is much chance for us
If you ever upgrade to AutoRoute 2004 then my POIConverter program can be used to extract PushPin data and, of course, AR2004 will read CSV files.
