Hi Danny,
I think that you may have created the BMP file in 24 bit format. It’s best to limit the format to 8 bit (256 colours).
You may also want to include a text file in the Zipped file so that you can include notes, copyright, details of the author etc. See one of the POIs in the POI download section. Have a look at the Royal Show Car Parks POI, which is one of the later ones and has some useful notes in it.
Apart from the two above points your POI looks very good. All you need to do is send it in, and get it published on this website.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have now changed the icon and added a readme.txt file to the zip.
Please re-down the version from the site.
Many Thanks.
How do i get a link to the file from this site?
Thanks again

Hi Danny,
I’ve tried to download your new zip file but it looks the same as your original one. I’ve even deleted all of my MS IE temporary files and your zip file still looks the same.
To get POIs published here, send the zipped file to:
reviews at pocketgpsworld dot com
(replacing at and dot with the usual)
Good luck with your POIs.

Hi Danny,
Looks good, one small thing is that I think your BMP file may still be 24 bit. When I go to save it as another name, the default format is 24 bit. However when I save it as a 256 colour one and go to resave it, the format stays as 256 colour. It might be me, but could you check it?

Hi Danny,
My favourite tool for creating POI BMP files is strangely enough, the free and very basic MS Paint. It may be me being confused when using MS Paint.
BTW, I got the POI and BMP files to work OK on my set-up. Although my set-up seems to work OK with 24 bit BMP files in TTNav, however it is known that 24 bit BMP files can upset TTNav on other PDAs.

I take it your other half drags you around Ikea on a regular basis then! I created one a while back to help me find them although I'm sure I've seen most of them by now! We're already hosting this on the POI pages _________________ Darren Griffin |

24bit is one bit per channel of RGB equals 8bit.
48bit is one bit per channel of RGB equals 16bit.
Convert the file to 8bit and save as BMP from there.

Update to Premier League - why bother when the 3 that came up will probably go straight back down!
