Im new to all this GPS, recently purchased Globalsat Bluetooth GPS Receiver PDA - BT308.
it comes with A universal travel charger. - 2 pin plug - Issue is im in the UK, so need a 3pin power charger.
Does anyone know where I can purchase one from? as im assuming its not made to be charged in the UK should I just use the car charger it comes with, or do I purchase a travel adaptor to make it work in the UK?
I dont want to blow any of the components by using the wrong power current.
Any help is appreciated..
Thanks In Advance.. |

Hi,
I have an imported BT-308 which has the mains charger with the twin bladed plug (US) and have found a nice cheap simple solution. Use the plug in mains shaver adaptor plug commonly available in the UK. They are currently £1.49 in my local Woolworths and have a 1amp fuse - perfect. The BT-308 supplied US spec. mains charger has a polarity protected circuit and works either way round.
If your charger has the European twin round pin plug, you will have to avoid the Maplin product described above (for schuko) as these are recessed to take a round schuko plug and the rectangular charger will not fit into the recess.

You need to look carefully on the plug, a lot are multi-voltage and will automatically take anything from 110V to 240V input, it should say so on the moulding or on the box somewhere. |

When I go my digital camera the power adapter only had a two-pin plug so I bought one of those shaver adapters from Tesco and plugged it into that which seems to work fine.

Thanks to all who have replied, as the IPAQ charger uses the same current as what the BT-308 does, I used that, all good so far.
