|
|
I will be in the states this November and taking my GPS with me, running iGuidance v2.
What I'm wondering is, what are the chances the hirecar I get wont let my GPS work through the windscreen? Are most cars still okay, is it to do with heating elements and stuff?
It looks like I might hire a Daewoo Lanos or Chrysler Neon or Cirrus. Does anyone know if these would be fine? Is there a list somewhere of the cars that need the special receivers? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

nearly none of the US cars have coated front windshields. Your GPS will work fine . _________________ Lutz

Hmmmm......what about heated front windscreens?
I went to Colorado in January and the car we got had a heated front screen - i.e. a conductive element built into the screen and my Navman 3000 could not get a lock through it, but worked ok when attached to passenger side door window.

There you are right. The question is - how many rental cars have that feature? _________________ Lutz
