Hi,
I want to purchase a PDA with GPS for my car. I was lucky to find this site in time!
I was wondering whther or not is possible for you lads to review the latest PiN Pocket PC from Navman (especially compared with Mitac Mio 168). It looks hot to me, but I don't deny I'm a flaming newbie - in this area I could not tell the Sun fron the Moon.
I also saw something that could be usefull for me: I live in Germany and there's an offer for a certain Bluemedia PXA 255 running the 4th version from Navigon (bundle known here as "ADAC set"). At about €480, it's cheap enough to be tempting. It seems that, opposed to Aldi set, it had the full version of Mobile Navigator, and I wonder if this bundle can be enhanced with a TMC receiver. I would really appreciate if I found here something about this model as well - I don't speak German and I could not find any user reviews here.
Thank you in advance,
uv. |

Our partner site www.pocketnavigation.de has tons of information about Navigon and the various Aldi/Lidl/ADAC bundles. Give it a try, it's not that difficult to understand.
PXA255 just means that it's a standard XScale processor, and that programs will run on it that are compiled for ARM (you can safely assume this means ALL programs on the market)
Do you want a hardware review or a software review? _________________ Lutz

Thanks for quick answer. I'll try to give a shot on the german site, and I'll come back a bit later.
About the software I'm pretty much up-to-date. I was more interested in hardware performance - they have built-in GPS receivers, and I read here that this may be a tricky issue. |

We have requested a PiN from Navman but are still waiting for one to come in. As soon as we do receive it, we'll write up a review but cannot currently give any timescales. |
