Hi,

Im totally new to all this GPS stuff - like many here i guess Smile.

Well i just bought a Ipaq 2210, Tom Tom 3 and Seido 2500 mount with GRS 300 receiever.

Got it all up and running and took it for a test drive today, all works fine except Tom Tom is always around 10 secs behind where my actual location is. For example i will be stoppd at a junction where i need to turn right and Tom Tom 3 will say turn right in 200 yards, i turn right and carry on down road and 10 secs later i get turn right.

I have Tom Tom and the map data stored on a 128 meg CF card - thinking this may be causing the delay and putting tom tom onto the 2210 memory may help, also i had to guess the setting in Tom Tom GPS section for the Seido GSR 300 receiever as none were included - great for a newbie Smile

Is this delay a kow problem, am i missing something silly ??

Any help appricaited.

Spike

There is a delay, but in my case (TT3, IPaq 2210, TT BT GPS receiver) it's around a second (and I've got a very fast car :D).

I assume you've tried a soft reset?

Yep tried soft resest, and it doesnt seem to matter what speed im travelling, the bit of road TT has me on is what i was actually on 10 secs ago, but if i actually stop then TT eventually catches up and shows the correct position for where i am - so its not the receiver sending false position info.

Also its not just the position on map, TT3 will say im doing like 30 MPH when actually im doing 60 MPH, id been doing 30 MPH 10 seconds ago.

Most annoying.

Oh and i have a very fast car as well Smile Subaru Smile

No, that's a "fast car". I used to have one of those, now I have a *very fast car*. TVR Cerbera. Ludicrously fast (when it's working) :D

Hehe - so i guess the Service station POI is quite handy then Smile

Well i reinstalled everything - with Tom Tom to the PDA memory and maps to the CF card - will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens - also set the GPS to NMEA 4800 instead of SiRF 4800 as ive been told that can cuase delays.

Actually the TVR dealers/specialists POI is very useful. I can plot trips so I've never too far from one of them :D
