Hi everyone, I just came back from visiting Europe and saw that alot of people are using pocket pc and GPS for navigation and tourism. I live in Alaska, USA and do alot of traveling for fun and always pack books with me to find interesting places around the world, packing books is not fun and so I decided to look into purchasing a pocket pc and a gps navigation system. What I chose so far is an
HP iPaq 5555:

and Pharos GPS System.:

I chose this because it has Wi-Fi and bluetooth wich is handy if I need to go online and is the top of line right now.
My question is this a good setup?
How do I know which gps is right for me?
Will I be able to load maps into it?
What should I get that works everywhere I travel?
My main traviling regions are United States, Caribean, and All over Europe.
What is the most versitle and stylish setup?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Also do you guys know any websites with information on this kind of stuff.

Thank You.

Your setup looks ok. The Pharos software is, umh, not necessarily top of the line, but the receiver is ok.

There is no one single package that covers all of the world. You will have to think about getting different systems, both geographically and also for different purposes (street navigation and outdoors) . The good news is that all of them should play well on your iPAQ.

One thing you need to invest in is a big, big memory card - as big as you can afford. Try not to get a Sandisk card.

Thanks for the reply, I just did some research and tomtom nav 3 looks very good. The reviews arent that bad and it looks nice. I searched for Pharohs and I could find a whole lot that I would want to go with it. With tomtom I read some issues with bluetooth connection being dropped. Will that be an issue with Ipaq 5555? One more thing what are the top GPS Nav systems you guys would go with if you were to buy a new one. Thanks.

Spelling error, what I meant was couldn't find a whole lot of information.

Where are you located? Software is slightly different for Europe and America.
