Hi all, Im new to this forum, I've looked through the posts, and apologise if this has been discussed in any way, but I'm desperate for help!!!
I purchased a Fortuna 'Clipon' to mate with my 2210 + TomTom2 about 3-4 months ago. The combination has worked perfect for these 3 months, the GPS picks up a FIX in 20 secs or so, and away I go. On Friday morning, I sat in the car, switched the GPS on, and awaited a FIX, green light comes on, so I start TomTom, as soon as TomTom started, the middle light went RED indicating no FIX. I left the GPS on, and made my way in the car thinking it would sort itself out, but after 2 hours, still no FIX. I then removed the battery for a few seconds, and then put it back in. Switched on the Fortuna GPS, and hey a GREEN light showing a FIX. The problem is, as soon as I started TOMTOM, the middle light turned RED. I thought this may be a coincidence, so I removed battery once again, re-fitted,switched on and got a GREEN light, got a bluetooth conn, as soon as I started TomTom, RED light again. I've tried re-installing TomTom, but same thing happens. If I start the "GPS" program that TomTom installs in the programs, it shows satellites and the Fortuna's light stays green.
I'm sorry to have ranted on a little, but thought a thorough explanation was needed.
Good news, I left the battery out for 24 hours, and have just put it back in. Once the Fortuna found a signal, I connected to the IPAQ and started TomTom2 and all seems ok now. I get a good signal and the navigation is fine. Thanks to all for taking time to read the post!!
