I've read in another thread that in order to have Memory Map and TomTom running it is necessary to remove TomTom~GPS.
I have done this on the PPC using the remove programs function, but now when trying to use TomTOM I see GPS disabled.
This is exactly the same as the other user in the thread "TomTom3 and Hiking"
Memory Map works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks

completely uninstall the TomTom GPS driver (both instances) and then, after a soft reset, install TomTom GPS 2.07 (from this site's download section) _________________ Lutz

It may be listed twice in the "installed programs" list
TomTom GPS

Looks promising, I'll try it in the car tomorrow.
Many thanks

OK done that, can either have Memory Map or TT2 running correctly but not at the same time. If I have either running, when trying to run the other program I get "Can't open Com Port 1"
Any ideas |

This is normal behaviour. When TomTom opens it opens COM1 in order to read the incoming data. If TomTom has it open then MemoryMap won't be able to use it and vice versa.
There is some software around somewhere that will allow to accept the data on COM1 and it will then squirt it out on port 2 and 3, for example, so you can configure TomTom for COM2 and MemoryMap for COM3 and it would work. It's a kind of software re-radiating antennae using virtual COM ports. I've no idea what it's called though, but I'm sure someone else will! |

yep... http://franson.biz/GpsGate/
When you move to TomTom 3 there is no need to change the GPS driver. But if you do, make sure you use GPS 3.03 - that one is cooperating again. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for all your help guys.
OK, I can only use 1 application at a time, without additional software, but if I uninstal TomTom GPS, to allow me to use MemoryMap can I still use TomTom.
MR T suggests I can in this http://pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=9360
I tried it but got GPS disabled |

Once you have installed the TomTom GPS and it works. You uninstall the "TomTom~GPS" from remove programs on the PocketPC (not your main PC). This does not actually uninstall TomTom GPS and it should still work.
This is what I have done and I can use both TomTom and MemoryMap but not at the same time. |
