I've just updated my 2589. It now boots up with Belgium and French keyboard which I have reset to UK but on trying to enter a town the only letters available (lit up) on the keyboard are H and K. I've done a full reset twice and the same thing happens.

Any suggestions please.

Delete any keyboard you don't want.

I say 'delete' but cut and paste to a PC so you can copy it back if you need to.

When I first get my Garmin's I delete all foreign files I don't want in all areas.

Sorry for delaying this update but I've been in France since 4th.

It was my error in changing the coverage to Benelux as there was insufficient memory for full western europe. I eventually realised the error and loaded France and the keyboard reverted to normal.

My new Kia car has 10.25 navigation based on Here mapping which I found worked very well in deepest rural France. It found remote addresses at first attempt including one by just the house name and postcode. It navigated perfectly with a rapid update after leaving indicated route. That means my Garmin 2589 is now superfluous after many years of good service.
