|
|
Hi
I am an infrequent user of my VIA135 , but I like the way I can add PGSW OV2 and BMP files for POIs . Over the life of the device TomTom have changed the method for doing this, and I can't find how to do it using the latest ver of MyDrive Connect - v 4.3.0.5005
Has this ability been taken away to manage the older TomTom devices - I know its old, but I prefer it to my other device, a GO 500 which although supports POIs, doesnt give you the ability to change the BMP icon for that POI.
THanks in advance |

You can still upload your POIs. If you right-click the My Drive Connect taskbar icon, bottom right corner of Windows, the option to Manage Community Content is still there. _________________ Richard

Hi - I am not seeing that option within Windows 11 . I have raised a case with TomTom and they have said they have no plans to support Windows 11.
I guess that kinda 'End-of-Life's my VIA135 , unless I can find a way to manually upload the OV2 files into the TomTom, or onto the SD card. Has anyone ever done this ??
Thanks |

Bloody pathetic AGAIN from TT! First they end-of-life their best & most reliable (Nav2) devices, then they dump their Discussions Community and now won't even support Windows 11 FFS!
No wonder Garmin are gaining so many more satisfied customers!
TT; RIP is what I say (or "turn around when possible")! |

Hi Malc_R,
Do you absolutely need the POIs' icons on the screen, or do you need to just be able to navigate to the POIs?
Do you have a smartphone, if so do you have an iPhone?
If you only need to navigate to the POIs and not see them on the navigation map and you have an iPhone then try TomTom GO Navigation and the iOS POI Manager app called POIViewer.
Disadvantages of iOS TomTom and POIViewer
1. POI icons are not displayed on TomTom screen
2. POI address and NOT name are in TomTom recent designation list.
My last TomTom PND was a 950, i.e. a long time ago! I've happily used TomTom, POIviewer, and CamerAlert together, ever since.
I load all of my own POI lists (categories) into POIviewer and when I need to navigate to a POI, I find it in POIviewer and then hit the Nvaiget button, choose the SatNav app TomTom, Google Maps, etc and then it's set.
Just a thought, if you already have an iPhone.
