Is it connected and powered when it says that? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

My crystal ball is a bit cloudy these days, so I had to try it out the old fashioned way
Seriously though. Yes, both on a 240/12v adapter in the house and in the car. The TA10 in the car pinged up with traffic as usual. I'll just pop out and give it another try.
Result:
Switched off 2569 and restarted it.
Plugged in TA20 and got a nice blue light on it.
Plugged TA20 it into the 2569 and got the incompatible cable warning.
Plugged my TA10 into it, traffic popped up pretty much straight away.

Hmmmm .... Kremmen hopefully will pop in later. As far as I know it should work. Could be a faulty cable perhaps
I have a TA20 with my 2508. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I'm away from my boxed 2597 at the moment so I can't do a mix and match again till Monday.
The only time I got an incompatible warning was when I tried a USB adapter instead of the supplied car one with the male fag socket adapter on it but that was a Nuvi50.
I wonder if they have made changes in a firmware update to look for a specific antenna cable?
Find out Monday. _________________ Satnav:

I've asked my contacts at Garmin about the differences between the TA10 and TA20, I'll post here if I get an answer.
Just a thought. If you've switched cables did you do a complete shut down or simply put your nuvi into standby mode? May be worth ensuring the nuvi is fully shut down by holding the on/off button until you get the turn off message, and see if that makes a difference. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Step one was to do that.
The TA10 connected OK after the TA20 had failed without an ON/OFF cycle |

Where are you getting the incompatible cable warning, on basic power or just the traffic?
If on basic power then it has to be the cable as I ran mine on a third party hardwire kit when I used Smartlink. _________________ Satnav:

Just traffic. Charging's fine.
Looked for a TA10 but can't find one anywhere |

I can now confirm 100% that my 2599 receives traffic from both my TA10 and TA20.
Did you say your TA20 had a straight connector because mine is at a right angle that plugs into the Garmin end like my TA10.
Sounds like a dodgy and or possibly counterfeit cable? _________________ Satnav:

@M8TJT
Yep, my original theory ... cable issue. Where did it come from?
Could always try to met up so you could check my TA20 on your satnav? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

My TA20 hasn't got the blob on it.
Yours is also a different model number, mine is a RF-279-N502-7
Mine also has P/N 320-00239-70 printed under where it says TA20 car charger so there are subtle differences _________________ Satnav:

I've been having a look around and you are not alone.
It seems the ones with the P/N number are the ones that work and are in the original unit box.
The ones they sell as an accessory ,without that P/N, don't work for traffic but Garmin still sell them as a TA cable.
Crazy. _________________ Satnav:

The cable marking is CSA AWM I/IIA LL109915 FT1 800C 300v18AWG XINYA-B. Not the same as yours I suspect. |
