Hi Alix,

I have the new version running now, and was disappointed that the colours are still washed out on my iPAQ2210. Not inclined to change the PDA unless it packs up, because the display is fine for TomTom and CoPilot. But if I do have to replace it, what PDAs give the best contrast displays?

Have you noticed that when it displays the Latitude and Longitude (after GPS setup) it does not show the degrees, only the minutes and seconds!

Also, it is still taking much too long after deviating from the route before it starts to recalculate. If I take a detour in a town centre I have passed a couple of junctions before it decides to recalculate. TomTom is much slicker.

Robin

the colours look washed out on the 2210 because the screen is very pastel in its colours. im running it on my xdaminiS if want to replace the pda id recomend the new imate with builtin gps the screen is very vivid.

i would agree the reroute take a little longer but does seam acurate once rerouted im still not convinced the truck routing has been implinented ive sent an email to them but had no response as yet

The imate is a little beyond my budget I'm afraid, but I don't need the phone feature so am just looking for a PDA

Try looking for the Imate-PDA-N thats got built in SiRF-III, Bluetooth, WiFi for a little over £250, and it comes with car cables/ holder. PC cables and a leather case, makes a change these days - my only gripe is that it isn't a phone!!
Or the Mitac MIO P350 which can be found for under £180 - a couple of options, neither are phones - Mike

Thanks Mike. If my 2210 gives up the ghost, I'll take a look at those

I am very interested in purchasing the POCKET-NAVIGATOR 6 software for my HP 2190. I have been using the PC version-: Navigator 4.4+ on my laptop & I am impressed with it.

I would be grateful if you could answer a few queries-:

1. Can you import custom poi's i.e. speed camera, low bridges ect.? ( I have the data in CSV format)
2. Can the Poi's be alerted with wav files? (Like in the PC version)?
3. Can you customise the route generation to prefer certain types of road?
4. Can you change the road type colours?
5. Will it work with my Blue Tooth GPS?
6. Is it better than Co-pilot? which is very poor i.m.o

Thanking you in advance

1. Yes, there is a utility on the CD which enables you to import POIs in various formats. I haven't installed the safety camera database yet, but intend to do so when I have some time to play
2 I don't think so. There are some built in POI warnings with adjustable distances
3 No - you can choose fastest/shortest and car/truck
4. Haven't been able to do so yet. I have found the files with the road colour descriptions, but have drawn a blank as to how to edit and recompile the file type
5. Yes, it works ok with my Holux GPSlim 236 bluetooth
6. I don't think it's as good as CoPilot yet. You have to go too far off the route before it recalculates - it isn't much use in crowded city centres if you have to take a detour. This is adjustable in the PC version, but not in the PDA one

Thanks Robin

I think I will wait until later on in the year before I purchase a copy. it seems like there is still a lot of work to be done.
I sent a copy of my questions to directions, the letter is appended below.
You may find the answers interesting.

BTW I forgot to ask can you block roads?
