I don't recall any device ever reading the "Where am I" screen outloud and I tend to use the TTS voices by default - Mike

Apologies all round. How long have I had x20 devices? And now I discover I do have the Where am I. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed But try as I will, I can't make it tell me where I am (just displays it on screen).

Honestly -- we DID have the "where am I " screen speaking
-- on the old 740L - as we used to try it when up mountains in France -- Just to see what it would say.. Laughing Laughing
but since changing to the new 740L we have lost it.. Crying or Very sad

But if it has gone -- then it has gone ! Sad

.. on the voice activation..
When I ask "Where am I?" it replies "seeking your location"

Then it comes up with a small map screen and the text of the location also with the Lat/ Long of the Location etc. all as previously

BUT - On the old one it used to speak the words out loud and tell me
-- but either I haven't switched something on
-- but this one don't speak the location??

Any ideas why?? what have I done wrong

Maurice

OK Maurice, I have a definitive answer from TT for you...

It used to read out before.
But for the time being, In the "Where am I?" screen the system DOES NOT PROMPT the displayed information.

... But I didn't get any reason why.

so your memory is not failing you, but for Mike A and I, it is! Stop it!
