Hi Guys
I have had dealings with tom tom suppert and have too say I have had exellent service.

1st time widscreen dock problems new modified one recieved 5 days later

2nd time my 910 stopped working I had a new unit 7 days later

3rd time complained my home dock and mains charger was having charging problems and 5 days later have recieved a new home dock and mains charger.

I have dealt with loads of internet companies in the past and feel this is one of the better companies I have dealt with.

Sorry to hear about other peoples problems

Cheers all Andy....

Just to let everyone know that my aunt's memory card finally turned up yesterday.

Someone called Felix called her on Tuesday and said as a gesture of goodwill they had installed the speed camera pack as well.

Now, it's nice to have a bonus like that. But considering the enormity of the screw up, something a little more would have been more gratefully accepted.

Still, it's a nice addition, as trying to install the speed package is how we found out the card was duff.

Thanks you to whoever got through and made this all work out in the end.

Cheers! :D

I have also just received communication from TOMTOM that a free-of-charge replacement is being shipped out today. :D

It appears that TOMTOM had received the original faulty card and lost it. But this has now been resolved and replacement is being shipped to us by UPS.

Thank you for allo concerned to help push this issue along.

Just one question - how are you going "to make sure No one buys a TT product ever again!"? Laughing

It's the evolution of the product, or not as the case may be. It seems that TomTom even have their doubts, Riders seem hard to come by these days with some retailers admitting that they aren't available anymore.

I think especially within biking circles, where there does tend to be a club culture, people tend to go by recommendation. Whilst there are happy Rider users out there I don't think even they can deny that there is an issue with the cradle. I was considering a Rider a year ago but caught early noises of discontent so got a Quest instead. I'm not saying the competition is perfect but I know who I'll be buying from next time and anyone who asks will get recommended to do likewise.

The Rider was not a very good product to start with and there have been a lot of problems with it. Why would anybody buy the last end-of-the-line product in the shop after being advised against it is beyond me.

By all accounts Garmin's devices (including zumo) are much more suitable for bikers.
