Since the last update I am now able to import POI files and also more importantly for me the Speed camera database.

However I am not able to import the BMP image, just getting ALKs defults. Was this the same before or something new?

ignore me - need to update the install guide!

putting the file in EU / uk_ireland / save

seems to import them although you seem to need to remove one of the underscores '_' for it to do it correctly! weird... also, it 'hangs' after first import and you need to close thee app and restart before it appears to finish correctly...

Have downloaded the application and have purchased both of the extra add ons but am getting error 309 unable to complete purchase. Is anyone else having this error?

Hi

I purchased the text to speech option and it seemed to work fine. It asked me for my Itunes password and completed successfully. I have just had an email from Copilot confirming the purchase.

I think £2.99 as a one off payment is quite reasonable. I would have preferred it for free of course but at least they have priced it sensibly.

I am just going to go and try the text to speech on a quick journey. I tried the demo mode and it seemed to work well but it will be interesting to see how it copes with my local street names.

The tts purchase went fine here also. Now all I need to do is figure out how it works. TTS on my tomtom is the ability to type in custom poi warnings. I use them for speed cam warnings. Is it the same on co pilot? I hope it is but I can't figure out where the option is wihin the settings to type in my custom warnings.
Anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please.

***Update, ok, I've figured out I have to select a computer voice, seems to be only one option in the English UK voices, being Eleanor. After that I'm still stuck as to where I input text for Elanor to speak***

The main thing I have found it does is speak the street names.

For example, it will say things like "In 500 yards, turn left onto Carrow Road. Then in 500 yards, turn right onto the A1536"

I am not sure if it does anything else as I have never had a text to speech option before.

First impressions of the text to speech are good. I had a short journey around my village and it worked well.

Think yourself lucky you can make the purchase!

For some reason, in the new update (v8.0.0.514), if I click 'Buy Now' I get a confirmation dialogue saying:
Quote:
Confirm Your In App Purchase

Do you want to buy one Text to Speech (TTS) for £2.99?

{Environment: Sandbox}

I have the choice of 'Cancel' or 'Buy' and clicking 'Buy' results in my iTunes password dialogue; enter my password and I get:

Quote:
This is not a Test User account.

Please create a new account in the Sandbox environment.

{Environment: Sandbox}

I understand what a Sandbox is, but how have I ended up inside one?!

I get the same for Traffic purchase too... Crying or Very sad

I've mailed CoPilot support, but I'm still waiting for them to resolve an issue from 3 months ago... what hope they can sort this?!

Has anyone else suffered this?

yep - that's what text to speech is... but it should also tell you the street name you need to turn on eg 'turn left on greaves road' rather than 'turn left in 100yards'

Just updated today and also bought the TTS option and although I can select it I do not get any street names announced in Demo mode.

Also despite selecting "Say Welcome to CoPilot Live" I do not get that either.

I do get turn instructions.

Also get all the live services bar the Traffic.

Perhaps I need to remove and re-install?

Edit: 3GS not JB.

Well, I just removed the app and then re-installed it - I then had to "Restore Licences" from the CoPilot Store.

The effect was to still have no TTS in demo mode (can someone confirm it works in demo) and I have lost the previous Live fuel prices :-(

Also still no "Welcome to CoPilot" at startup.

Seems very flakey.

EDIT:

Needed to select different computer voice for TTS.

Would help if they told you that when you selected the TTS option in the menu. Mad

So, I paid £2.99 for one voice only that works with TTS and because I reset everything I lost some LIVE services. Confused

Tried the TTS today and it really rather good.

Also bought the Live Traffic/Fuel Prices and Local Search.

Although Live Traffic appeared to work earlier today, now when I try, as soon as it goes to get traffic data the app just quits. I have restarted the iPhone, but still the same.
