Well if it isn't fixed this week its getting taken back to Halfords for a exchange.

Make sure you get if you can, like I did, an email from TT saying its a hardware problem. When I bought mine from Halfords they told me if I needed to return it a software problem would not be entertained, it had to be a hardware problem.
It is likely that if had pushed it, even with a software problem I could have forced an exchange but with the email from TT I had no hassle from them.

Well still not got safety Camera's today. So called TomTom up and asked what was happening. Was told another safety camera update was due tomorrow i could see if that sorts it. I said no i wanted it replaced as if tomorrows update did not work i would not have time to take the unit back tomorrow. Very helpful customer service rep said he understood and would email me authorisation letter to take to Halfords to swop the unit for a new one. Sure enough email arrived within 5 mins round to halfords walked out with a new unit. Updated it and speed cameras are back. So a happy end for me just waiting to see if 3rd party poi support arrives soon.

I'm getting dizzy going round in circles with Tom Tom Customer Support and so now the issue has been escalated to 3rd Line support. They have been pretty useless so far and as they said today "We are perplexed as to why the device does not see the update?"

Anyhoo, the device will still not update from 10.022 and refuses to see any updates at all.

Try this:

In your MyTomTom notification popup, clear the cache and see if that helps.

If not, try changing the setting to a different country. Save settings. Any notification appearing? Try setting back to UK. Anything now?

I'm impressed. I don't think I've ever heard of 3rd line support before!

My unit also does not detect the update, and is 'stuck' on 10.022. I've uninstalled My Tomtom, ensuring that Registry, Program folders, Cache folder etc were all deleted and removed prior to reinstallation.

Still nothing - unit flashes for a moment that's its checking for updates, but doesn't appear to find anything.

That number in the brackets (eg (26.3) to (29.9)) is just the amount of free RAM available at the time you connect to MyTomTom. It will change (up or down) every time.

I think you may need to contact TT customer services to get the update "pushed" to your particular serial number again.

Cheers for your reply Very Happy I've been reading about these on here for a while and thought Rolling Eyes tomtom would have sorted the 1000 updates and maps out by now! Plus would like to get the camera database from here on it too! So, is the best way to contact them via email or phone?

Well I contacted Tomtom support to see if they could assist me with updating my GO 1000 Live to the 10.024 release.

I ensured that I explain my "My Tomtom" application was on the latest release, highlighted they own software revision page showing 10.024 being the latest, give then my serial number and the full software revision as shown in the status screen....

...1st they replied and told me how to update the "My Tomtom" application. So I replied and explained I was looking for the device update.

...today they've come back and said there are no device updates at this time..

Read into that what you will...did they pull the update?

Iain

Rolling Eyes well I've just checked what software I'm on and it's 10.022 dated 13/9/2010. I've emailed tomtom asking about device and map updates and I've got NO reply yet Rolling Eyes
By the time we get the updates and the full services that tomtom advertises, they will be out of date and folk will be getting newer tomtom's or other satnav brands!! Rolling Eyes
