One to try of mine, near where i live is a street called Ghyll Edge, but TeleAtlas have always called it "Chyll Edge" (v annoying when doing a search for the address) but its been changed on mine with maps 675, 705 and now 710 so hopefully its been made public. Anybody fancy having a look?

I still have Chyll Edge and I'm set to get map changes submitted by anybody and everybody. Oddly, my changes to Leisure road were submitted using GO720 # 2 or 3 if I remember correctly - certainly NOT with #5. Similarly I have a one way system that I submitted for Arlington Road N51.45091, W2.55128, which I submitted with an earlier incarnation.
All this checking has been a complete pain - when I went to use the 720, I was told there was a new Application, which meant doing a quick backup, then download and install, then download a new xulrunner (or whatever to operate my GO), then several resets and reboots to get it all working again. So now I've got App 7.210 (8555/0710250) OS:2314. BUT I still haven't got the free map upgrade!!  (WHY does the virtual GO show App 7.200? )

Hi I also checked.
It is still named Chyll Edge, but then it is also on Google maps as Chyll Edge (which are Tele Atlas)

Ok well guess its not being sent out thro mapshare yet, even tho its been added by me 3 times on my pervious 3 maps! Wonder what the criteria is for the different levels of trust thro mapshare. Is many 100+ and some 10+ people? Guess thats for tomtom to know, and us not to find out!

Chyll Edge here too...
Now, a dilemma... Do I change it on mine, or do I wait and use it as a test to see if Mapshare is still working?
Edit: Dilemma solved...
We should ALL change it on our units. Then we might become "a few" and actually get it sent out by Mapshare. (You can check if it HAS downloaded by turning OFF "use my own corrections temporarily in the preferences to see if it is still correct). |

yeah so if anyone wants to volunteer, put your name here and we`ll see how many names it takes to change chyll edge to ghyll edge. That way it should appear in the "some" category, maybe even the "many" category.

I reported on Tele Atlas web site http://mapfeedback.teleatlas.com/index.htm as well as updating My TomTom

Now here's a thought. Why not get PGPSW to start a page for Map corrections, then we can get better maps just like the better cameras!!

Put me down - I've just done that name change. It hasn't uploaded yet though, even though I've asked it to update.

That would be a great idea, but could get very complicated and then there is the issue of trust! Would probably be better to do it but limit it to verifiers, mods and above categories of PGPSW staff.

Just done the update to App Version 7.210 (8555/071025) OS 2314. Also the usual update for "Operate My Go" also got a load of Map & POI updates.
Going to the Co Ords that falkirk81 posted N55.17032, W1.71165 the road in question is named as Ghyll Edge on my 720.
As I haven't made the change myself it has obviously been done via the MapShare updates I have just received.
Having said that I have never had a problem with MapShare as it has always worked from the beginning.

I got the App update last night. It didn't give me any mapshare updates afterwards.
This morning, I've received mapshare updates.
When I first checked, Ghyll Edge was showing. However, following Andy's tip, I then turned off Use my own corrections and it reverted to chyll edge.

Ok thanks for that, i think xda has done the same but not unchecked his own submissions. It will be interesting to eventually find out how many submissions it takes to make it onto a mapshare correction!

I didn't make any changes to your co ords on my device as i said in my previous post the correction was done via MapShare downloading the updates. the change to the road name on my 720 was done by others not me.
