Or to put it in harsher terms, you may end up with a product without any manufacturers warranty, and have to rely soley on your legal rights - which if the invoice was less than £100, or over £100 and you didn't pay pay by credit card, may in effect be worthless. |

I guess it depends on how much you are willing to pay for the after sales support. I brought my GR236 from Nav4all for £50 including delivery and that's about £30-£40 cheaper than what the "UK spec" units are selling for. _________________ Gone fishing! |

I couldn't agree more. It is just that some people think (or are even led to believe) that they are getting the same 'deal' but at a cheaper price, when often they are not.
A bit off topic, but if buying from outside the EU, there could be a customs liability too. |

Quite right. You have to watch for inflated shipping costs and possible VAT/Customs charges when you buy from outside the EU, although I think customs don't bother if the item is below a certain value?
Nav4all are an EU company based in Holland (not an eBay trader) so no UK VAT to pay and they did free postage too.
Maybe Nav4all are selling the GPS units as a loss leader to get people to try their navigation software. Either way, it's a good deal for me! :D _________________ Gone fishing! |

The customs threshold is £18. Above that VAT and duty (possibly plus a handling fee) are payable - to about 25% |
