is it not a problem putting a BT GPS receiver on the back parcel shelf, as it is far from the cigarette lighter (i.e easy power) or do you just have to get into the habit of taking the thing out at the end of each day and charging them, I ask because with my memory I would certainly forget quite often. is there an easy solution to this (apart from aquiring a new brain Smile )

The point here is that you would be putting it on the rear parcel shelf only if you could not get a signal in the front. And if there was no signal in the front then a GPS Mouse would not work their either and it would be a hell of a lot harder installing one of those in the rear as they must have 12v power and need to have a connection to the PPC in the front as well!

Some users have provided a 12v power source in the rear to keep it topped up, others just take it out and charge each night. You'd be unwise to leave it in the car for fear of attarcting thieves anyway.

The only downside I can think of, is that you would be using your CF slot for the GPS. With TT3, I use my CF slot for a memory card so that I can store the maps, also mp3s, PDFs etc... I use a bluetooth gps so I don't have to worry about slot availability.

With the CF GPS I guess you could still access the SD slot for spare memory instead.

BTW - had a look at mine and managed to stick the MMC card from my phone into the SD slot. It read the MMC card ! and the CF card was in there too. Thus I think you can use both slots at the same time.

Yes you can use both slots at the same time, either for storage cards or other devices.

You could theoretically have an SD WLAN Card and a CF GPS card isnerted and operational at the same time if you wished, you wouldn't of course but the huge bonus of the 2210 is the flexibility that having both SD and CF brings.

p.s. I have been shown the Navman Pin everytime I have visited the numerous shops asking for a good GPS system in Totenham Court Rd area. Is it that good or are they just trying to offload their stock ?

Be aware that a number of shops on Tottenham Ct Rd are owned by the same people! 8O

If you deal with ASK Electronics, then check out the on-line price at http://www.askdirect.co.uk/ (I think there is an Easy Internet Café at the end of the road). I took a printout of the web page and discretely asked if they would sell the unit to me at the internet price and almost fell over when he agreed! :D
