I have only just had a thought after recently using GoogleMAps/Navigate on my Android phone. Perhaps Google dropped the UK colours from the maps so that the "Traffic" function is clearer to read.
A clear running (green) highlight on an Primary road (green) would not stand out too well. Neither would a jammed-up (red) "A" road (also red).
Just an idea to perhaps explain the change. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

If you click the ? in the black circle at bottom right of screen and select: "Return to classic Google Maps" then "Return to old Google Maps" |

Thanks for that link Snudge. Pity Google don't have a link back to the "Real" Return to old Google Maps. Hey-Ho! _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I can't find a way to drop a lat/long marker either. It was so easy before - right click where you wanted it and select 'Drop lat/long marker'. |
The "Drop LatLng marker" has gone but if you right click and select: "What's here?" you get the coords in the search box. |

Thanks, Snudge, but I've reverted to the old Google Maps where I can still use Drop Lat/Long Marker - until they do away with the old version! _________________ Anita

I've returned to "classic Google Maps" but the "Drop LatLng Marker" is not available to me in the right click menu.
Is there an even earlier version that you can go to? |

It was still there for me when I reverted to the old maps.
I'm able to enable/disable it at Google Maps Labs but it only seems to show tools I've used before. Maybe logging out would make it show all those available.
You can also get to the Lab by clicking the Maps Lab link in the next to bottom row in the left hand column of the old maps. It may also be on the new maps but I haven't looked. _________________ Anita

It seems we won't be able to return to classic maps soon.

Excuse my language but ... DAMN
I've always clicked "Too Slow" when prompted or any other reason for changing from Current to Classic Maps and nothing has changed. I find the New Google Maps a dreadful experience.
Especially "Street View", it's woeful. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Couldn't agree more, Ali.
Why do they always have to try to improve things that are working very well as they are? _________________ Anita
