1690 "distance to next turn" missing

If anything, it's a combination of maps/firmware.

I updated my firmware and the problem appeared. I then bought the new version of the maps and the fault was still there.

Garmin suggested I revert to the previous version of the firmware but couldn't supply me with a method to do this so it wasn't possible to test it.

I had the unit swapped by Garmin and it came with the old map and the new firmware. It had the same fault.

At this point I contacted my supplier and returned the unit to them for a full refund and Garmin refunded me the cost of the new map.

With the previous firmware and the old map, there were no instances of the missing direction to turn indicator.

Sorry to hear that but i tend to agree with Mhvideos.. my money is also on a map error some were .. or maybe some of the optimization in one of the new firmwares is to blame but to be honest its not a problem that would make me get rid of my 1690T , and all credit to Garmin for letting you send your sat nav back plus also refund the money on the map.. not a lot of companys would do that .
