If you download the latest map you have used your LMG - no second chance with LMG if a newer map is released in the 30 days.
Do the Windows Explorer backup then update everything apart from the map and do another backup.
I would enjoy it as it is for 4 weeks and wait and see if the new map is out by day 29 of your 30 days. If it isn't, update to 8.35. |
Yep - that's exactly what my plan was! I was just wondering what you get with the new map versions? Are things like speed limits and speed cameras updated? If so, it might be worth it, but if its just road corrections, i might leave it. |

There will be some corrections to speed limits and some corrections to road layout. Whether they will be noticeable to you in your location is debatable.
Speed cameras are not included with ANY map from TomTom, it's supplied as a separate download with a subscription. |

The only major difference I have noticed is that J29A of the M1 appeared at last on 8.35 maps.
Unless you travel around the Chesterfield/Staveley/Bolsover area then you don't really need to worry. |

You will not believe this - went to download latest app - got an error while trying to install the latest app!
I couldn't beleive it! Luckily, had made a WE backup. Before restoring, thought I would give it one more go, and luckily the app installed and the unit is working fine now. I have version 8.419 of the app now, is this the latest one?
I dont think I will bother with the lastest map, TTH is an absolute nightmare! |

Have been using the unit with no issues for a few days now, really find the hd traffic function useful - thought it would be a bit of a gimmick, but it genuinely seems to work!
