How to show POI icons?

Ah - at least it works!

I haven't used a Garmin for some time (it's 'er's indoors'), but I thought that when you've got a route set, there was an option under POI search to look 'at the destination' or something similar? I'm fairly sure there is/was because it's a (minor) thing I'm missing on my Navigon.

Also you ought to find that when you actually SET a proper route the unit will revert to the actual GPS location for the start point, though I'm not positive.

(As you say, you don't want all that fiddling about.)

Hi ..
Well ive found an easier way.When i click WHERE TO and go to the menu screen (address,extras favourites etc) it says NEAR at bottom of screen.If i click that and search A DIFFERENT CITY then type london for example, the AA guide in Extras now shows pois around that area ,but my home location stays the same and route starts from there.Its pobably the correct way to use this AA guide but i am a newbie .To come the victor meldrew though ,id still prefer just one large subcategorised list of alphabetically placed POIs ,that i could just click and go to first rather than having to point to a location and then choose local POIs around it.Thanks everyone for input and help though.
