Funny... I have USB Safely Remove installed and it hasn't caused problems with a 940 or an XL.

I do have a 720 where the internal memory has died.... It still works fine with everything installed on an SD card, but although Windows now happily registers the SD card only when you plug it in, Home refuses to recognise it at all, unless I pop the card out and put it in a card reader.

I have the same problem with my 720 - I have had it almost 2years now without any problems connecting to Home with the dummy SD card fitted. To-day without any recent up-dates I tried to connect to Home but it would not recognise TT. After reading this post I fitted a 2GB SD card and suddenly Home recognised my TT and asked me which memory I wished to up-date. I then closed down TT using the Safely Remove Hardware. If I remove the 2GB card it still will not connect.
Thanks for this - I would never have dreamed of putting an blank SD card in to make it connect
My OS is XP SP2

Try the TT whilst running your pc in safe mode, or on a different pc. That's how I discovered that something on my desktop was stopping recognition of the TT.
