yes you only have to look at the countries where TV on the move is perfectly legal to see the thousands of extra deaths on the roads from watching TV
Oh no in fact there are no figures, as per normal the UK takes the "just in case" approach to safety. Better in my opinion to allow TV in cars and make people responsible for their actions.
Remember: trying to make the systems idiot proof, just breeds a better idiot |

But the idiots who choose to try and watch TV whilst driving will kill other innocent motorists.
The law does permit TV in cars so long as it cannot be seen by the driver. That's fine for a factory fit solution, very hard to enforce with this though. _________________ Darren Griffin |

"The TV is only intended for the driver to watch when stationary. Once he or she exceeds five mph the screen goes blank," the firm explained.
Looks like they have included safety features when driving. |

Some idiots will use it whilst driving.
Seriously hope these (i.e. with sat nav driving aids) are banned. In just the same way petrol stations cannot sell booze.
The tempation is too great and yes on a long drive I may well be tempted to "watch" the news too. A TV in the car sounds great for passengers but we need to legislate that this is only for rear seat passengers. |

due to the good ol' law of "jack of all trades, master of none" i would assume that a dedicated portable dvb tv for the kids in teh back would do a far better job anyway AND still allow the driver their sat nav for directions while they're driving...!
likewise for mp3's, audio-books etc etc etc!

Not true: Planning permission has been granted recently, I believe, for a Shell franchised petrol station near Warrington to have a Justices' Licence for the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises.
Ther'e a Murco station near my home which is within a Costcutter supermarket and off license. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Why is that Darren - I've never bought any of my units from them, but often been tempted, but put off by their gimmicky website in favour of more professional looking ones - so looks like a good decision, but why??? |
