Start POIEdit on the PC and use it to open the MapSettings.cfg file, on the right hand side of the display in POIEdit will be a list of all the coordinates and place names, you can delete any you don't want by looking through the list.
Once you have finished the edit simply choose File/ Save As and select the ov2 file output format - Mike |

Thanks Mike. Yep, got that. But I was curious as there seemed to be a lot of duplicates. It appears that each time the saved file is opened, it creates another set of the same data. So having opened the file three times to check what data is there, I now have three sets of each POI. I guess if I open it again, I will have four sets. _________________ Gee-Pee

The original MapSettings.cfg file from the TomTom, contains all your favourites as you know, but it also contains your Home location and all the entries in the "Recent destinations" list. So if you navigate to a favourite or to Home then it will appear at least twice.
But are you saying that if you save the file in POIEdit and then re-open it in POIEdit (without putting it on the TT at all) it gets longer every time?
The "Append" feature in the POIEdit "File" menu will do this, but the normal "Open" shouldn't... Sounds like a bug. |

Yes, that's exactly what I am saying. Each time I open the saved file, the individual lines get duplicated. I have deleted the file ftb and am going to start again. If I get a moment today, I will post a screen print. _________________ Gee-Pee

Did a screen shot, Andy, but there are too many personal details to publish. If I delete those, then it fails to make the point. _________________ Gee-Pee
