Got the original downloaded file backed up, so will load that. I will then try it with no mapshare updates, in fact I think I will stop using mapshare even if I find thats not to blame it seems it is to open for inaccurate alterations to take place, will stick to just using my update fixes. Will do the run again in the next 2 days and see what happens then, will keep you posted.

Formated my 920, loaded the "Application files" from TT Home and then copied over the v8 map that I downloaded weeks ago. Works perfect but only giving me 3 digit post codes.....what have I missed ?

There's a folder called "Zip", which contains UK and Dutch postcode files:

Great_Britain.postal
Great_BritainPostal.ver
Nederland.postal
Nederlandpostal.ver

Hopefully, you'll have that folder in one of your backups - otherwise I'm sure somebody will be able to help you out.

I too have done the dirty and loaded v8 maps on my TT720 , been on holiday to Cornwall Wales and Nottingham worked perfectly for the 1800 miles I did ,even around home tom-tom is finally taking me on the routes I would expect like finally taking the back roads around tunbridge wells instead of right though it as it has always done

I have found the same around Blackpool, the IQ routes presents a route more akin to driving with local knowledge. If it does this where you notice (around your home town) then it must be doing it elsewhere which equates to far better routes per journey and possibly less petrol used.

To the OP have you tried the problem route with all MapShare disabled to confirm the problem is either with the map or can you name the exact location so a few of us running Navcore 8 with version 8 maps on can take a look at issue - Start point to end point of the route would be best - Mike

I have formated and done a clean reinstall, I have not done any MapShare updates, in fact I have decided not to use them in the future, only thing I have updated is the QuickGPS.
Going to do the same trip on Saturday but if all is ok I wont know really what the problem was, map file corruption, MapShare IQ Route etc and would really would have liked to know what it was, assuming it is OK that is.
I personally think it will be perfectly OK because I used it for many week, probably about 1500 miles without 1 single problem when I first installed v8 maps.
Will keep you posted as to how it performs.

PS....my start point was town center of Southport and destination was Wigan set to Fastest Route

Where was it sending you several miles the wrong way along the motorway?

With v8.010 and using v805 maps, my 720 has planned that route and there is no sign of travelling along a motorway and doubling back.

IQ Routes, Fastest route today (Weekday): 0:47hrs - 20.7M
IQ Routes, Fastest route tomorrow (Weekend): 0:45hrs - 20.7M

Both routes planned with MapShare set to use only my corrections and both routes look identical except that one is a couple of minutes faster.

That wrong way down the motorway was 2 of 3 weeks earlier on the M61, joined at J5 heading towards Manchester and was then told to come off at the next junction, J4 and was then directed to rejoin the motorway and go back to J5. I was going to Blackburn

Did the exact same trip yesterday from Southport to Wigan after reinstalling everything over the weekend. Apart from being told to go down a long standing 1 way road in the wrong direction it was perfect, non of the problems of before.
So the problem would seem to have been either a corrupt map file or a mapshare problem as I haven't updated the mapshare at all since reloading everything, and don't think I will use it again as my feeling is that was the most likely thing that gave the problem.
Thanks for your comments.
