Well I asked about the Map Guarantee upgrade for the 930 as mine came with the V800 map and I would like the New Qtr1 version
TT Support replied quicky but only to say. "Get Stuffed" of words to that effect, in that my product came with the latest map available at the time of purchase and the V800 maps were excluded from the map guarantee!! |

My Latest Map Guarantee offered me v715. So I stopped there and communicated with TT saying I received a ONE with my new Renault van, blah, blah 715, can I have 7.20.
First reply - answer within 48 working day hours.
Second (instant reply) - send proof of purchase of van! That's worrying, because the van came on 12th March, but the ONE didn't until last week (or was it the week before?). Either way, it's due a latest map and 715 is NOT the latest map.
Ho Hum, here we go again! _________________ Dennis

Paying attention? There's new 720 maps, /and/ 805 ones. |

I'm not bothered about v8 maps - they'd be nice (maybe), but what I'm asking for is the latest map (for my ONE) which has been announced today, v7.20, not the old fashioned v7.15 that all you lot have had for at least two weeks. _________________ Dennis

Paying attention, yes... making myself clear, no!
I wasn't saying that Dennis should be trying to get v8 maps for his One, just that the Latest Map Guarantee seems to be not happening any more. |

Help out an old dementiated man - It never did happen did it? Apart from Anita, maybe, the only people who got latest map guarantee were those who had the stamina to pursue TomTom until they got it? _________________ Dennis

Surely SOMEONE must have got it....
I'll be charitable and use the old "we only hear the bad news on the forums" line. |

Richard finally got them to cough up V715 for his 920
He got the EU Maps without a fight just had to provide receipt for purchase, but for the US maps he had to fight them tooth and nail as they insisted the upgrade was onoly for the area where you purchased the unit.
Took a week of kicking and screaming but in the end they gave in and added the 715 US maps to his account as well.
Although Nothing ever seems easy with them. Customer Service it ISN'T!
I see on another site "Pirate Versions of the new map releases have already been posted for download", So it would seem a lot of genuine customers will end up on the dark side just to get the maps they are entitled to |

Well, at least PND users get to use a minimum of v.7.20 maps, if you cannot use the v.8.05 that the GOx30 users can utilise.
Quote: | The 6.75 maps will remain available in the Map Shop for NAVIGATOR 6 users. |
The poor old PDA users , many of whom are long time (and loyal) TomTom customers, because they were using TomTom on their PDAs long before TomTom brought out their PND ranges, lose out yet again!

Well quickly following on the debacle of v7.481 and RSD-TMC, looks like I now have another battle on my hands with TomTom. I purchased a 720T on 30 March (5 weeks ago) and guess what they now want a further £75 so I can get what they purported to sell me in the first place, an up to date satnav .
I have written saying I want a free update to 7.20 but I am not holding my breath! |

Was there not a card in the box, explaining the terms of the "30 day Latest Map Guarantee"? |

Along line of if you have had it for 35 days then hard luck - yes. Maybe if TomTom made public knowledge the fact that it was planning a release I would have waited a week before starting to use the product! |

I don't know about Consumer Protection laws in UK or Europe but TT is definitely asking for a Class Action suit in the US. And at this point, I'm sure that some of us will wind up with about Three Cents while attorneys make thousands, but if it costs TT lots of money - GO FOR IT! |
