i use mine as a screen protector mainly to keep it clean as i have grubby hands when i most use my tomtom.

I am having trouble recalling but I think that I purchased a PSP screen protector which fit almost perfectly. It has been on for months. I don't think it interferes with use. I got mine at BestBuy (US)

Yes, I agree a proper screen protector should be expected to work OK if carefully fitted, but you shouldn't be surprised if you have problems with the bit of thick plastic it comes with to protect the screen during manufacture and shipping.
