I sucessfully updated the home software from original v2.2.0.33 to v2.2.1.58 and, finally, it recognised that the map on my TT920 was NOT the latest map and successfully offered me the map update to v715 via the 30-day latest map guarantee option. Result!
I've also noticed there now appears to be 'customer-submitted' shared items such as map cursors and voices, which didn't seem to be displayed previously?? |

Without wanting to hijack this thread, but mindful that those reading it are likely those that can help with my similar query elsewhere, can I ask if anyone can help me to move all my data from Internal to SD card on my 720.
The actual thread to use is HERE

Just wondering if I'm the only one who lost the POI subscription feature in the latest HOME update? If so, what am I doing wrong? The POI categories are checked in MapShare Preferences in TT HOME but still no POIs come in... _________________ TomTom GO720T: App ver 8.351(9982/090518), OS:315187, GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5120

Apologies if I'm being dense, but I can't remember if the fact you were getting POI corrections was shown in any way as they arrived, or if they were just downloaded in the same package as the mapping corrections.
If the latter, how are you telling that they have stopped arriving, pls? |

I used to be notified about new POI updates in TT HOME in the same way as when MapShare updates become available. Further, I could see in the map directory that the CAxxxx.ov2 files had been updated. Now, nothing happens so I take it that no POI updates come in... |

I was going to check for "modify" dates on the CAxxxx files, just couldn't remember if Home actually informed you.
When you say "I used to be notified about new POI updates in TT HOME in the same way as when MapShare updates become available" do you mean as a separate notification? If I go to "update my go" I see this:
Should I see a separate line for POIs. I simply can't remember.
Anyway... It seems I'm NOT getting any POI updates any more. I've done several Map Share updates for the new v715 map now and I have NO CAxxxx.ov2's at all in that map's folder. |

I dont' remember exactly what the message in the HOME window read before starting to download updates, but during the download HOME told me something like this:
Downloading New MapShare updates
Applying New MapShare updates
Downloading new POIs
Applying new POIs
etc.
This doesn't happen anymore. I would like to go back to the previous HOME installation and see if I can get it to work again, but I don't have the installation file. |

I downloaded the old TT HOME applications from Oldies site to test this. Couldn't get the POI subscriptions download to work again though. With V2.1.2.21 there was at least a heading on the update screen indicating POI download, but there was no data to download. I suspect TomTom has shut down this service. I will call TomTom support tomorrow to hear what's happening. |

|
|
I had resisted upgrading to Home 2.2.1.58 and instead stayed with 2.2.0.33.
Home had been prompting me to upgrade for over a week and I kept cancelling it. But I have noticed that since around 13/2/08 the prompting had stopped. Also doing a Check for TomTom Home Update reveals there is now no new update available.
Today I downloaded the Home installer again from the tomtom website to find out which version is currently available and it has reverted back to 2.2.0.33!
So it would appear that they have removed it. Has anyone else noticed this and any guesses to what the reasons are? |

Same for me my friend. I recently reinstaller Home by downloading latest from TomTom homepage and indeed I have 2.2.0.33
The only idea why they did that were to reverting to a working version after releasing a broken one.
Had similar experience with Garmin, they released broken firmware for one of their unit, after a day or two it was gone from thei webpage as if it never existed. |

Why do you say it is broken??
I updated mine earlier in the week and everything works perfectly. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2699lmt
