You cannot extract a product code from the device or a backup, if you think about it you enter the product code and device code into the TTcode web site, it then generates an activation code specific to your hardware and map - I posted the support number earlier, I would try giving them a ring.
As for the two map versions you quote my preference is the v660 out of the two, locally there are a few errors and missing house numbers etc in the 675 that were fine in 660 - Mike

OK, I assumed that the TomTom Home software saved this data to the PC hard drive? If so, maybe I can find the file the codes are saved in. If not and TomTom Home actually saves data like product codes somwhere online, will reinstalling the software help if it recognises my account?

Thanks for the support number - I will call them on Monday - assuming I need to, they don't work at the weekends.

So there doesn't seem to be much value in upgrading to 675 even at the half price offer until the end of the month?

Ian

I had a bit of a close shave here - I phoned TomTom support and they politely explained that my licences for the downloaded versions of the maps only lasted for one year. This is why they no longer showed up in My Products (I bought the maps at the end of 2006). But after a bit of polite arm twisting they very generously decided to provide me with the product codes. I'm hoping for an email any minute.

But the moral of the story is - make a safe hard copy record of your map product codes! TomTom won't necessarily keep a record of them for you for ever.

Ian

PS UPDATE - codes have arrived, it's all working beautifully (four satellites and I'm four feet from the window!, and I'm a happy bunny. Thanks again to TomTom for showing some faith in a loyal customer since 2004 Very Happy
