I can see it as a storage device and there are the same files on it as on the backup - but I suspect that the backup may not be perfect.

Have you set up an account with TT so you can use TT home. Sometimes doing an update through home will find the missing folders and let you download and install them. The application is free to download but if it is a map folder that is missing you may need to subscribe to a new map. Wait, if it is a new unit you may have latest map gaurantee so you could still download it. Not sure but worth a try. Create a TT account first.

I've got the TT HOME account and we've tried using that approach. I can't download a new copy of the map, the guarantee doesn't go that far. Customer Services have just agreed to ask authority to send me a replacement map, but are not hopeful. Returning the unit still seems the only solution.

Sorry i cant be of any more help. only other thing i could suggest is to list your folders and we could see what ones are missing but you would be quicker exchanging your unit. Hope you get it sorted one way or another, If sorted post your findings here so we can see it for future reference. Good luck.

I tried to get TT to give me a replacement map, but they refused - not their procedure. They still wanted to repair the existing unit - but the returns packaging still has not arrived. I felt that I would then (after a long delay) have what was, in effect, a reconditioned unit. A quick visit to Amazon has a new unit on its way. I've to return the faulty unit within 30 days using the pre-paid label they supplied. How's that for service!!

Oh well jrwc, At least you have got a way out. Not that i need to say but have a good read at the FAQ's in this thread, especially #1 and i hope you get more enjoyment out of your new unit when it arrives.
