Update :- I now have Western Europe 710.1561 on both my 720s. The first update took something like 7 hours to complete. The second one took under 50 minutes.

Thanks for the reminder about M40 J15 Graham - I had corrected it on the first update and you've reminded me to do it on the second.

Both these maps were added to my two accounts as "purchased", not as "Latest Map Guarantee". So if you hassle enough and get the right person, you can get a new map. My first hassle took a long time, but eventually succeeded. For the second, my very first question was that I have two 720s, both bought at same time, I'd been given a new map by John G so what about this second one (scanned copy of receipt attached). The very first reply came from John G and said it's ready to download from "here".

I think this explains the continual repeat offer of downloading the map - if you buy a map download, it's yours to download for a year and as they've done it as a pseudo purchase, that's how it's logged.

I wonder what will happen if/when this story of a new free super map for all comes to fruition. Confused

Incidentally, those of us who went through it found the changes between map versions with "progress" - my 660 map had fine detail, the 675 lost a bit, the 705 lost a bit more and now the 710 has lost more again. I'm not talking roads, but the layout of them. As each one has come out, the roads simply don't bend as much, they're straighter.
Here's map v705 ..

and here's mapv710

Plus dont forget the Switch Island brouhaha, where the 660map was updated, but the 710 map was NOT!

My pleasure, mine showed up as bought.

Although In another thread a user was told by TomTom that it was a problem in Home2 that would be fixed in the next release of Home.

Means you will get to your destination quicker, less bends to negotiate. Laughing
