4th December came and went without the latest european mapping being made available for the N** range I rang Navman to ask why and was told there has been an unexpected delay and that it will now be sometime in January before they are available.

You have a friend who goes to parties, gets obscenely drunk, hits on all the girls and upsets everyone. He does this every time. You invite him to a party, and he does his usual stuff and hits on your girlfriend. Do you
1) Get upset with him
2) Get upset with yourself for inviting him
3) Laugh it off, you expected it.
You buy a Navman and the promised software update is late: do you
1) Get upset with them
2) Get upset with yourself
3) Laugh it off, you expected it. |

As the days grow long Navman is looking less and less of a good deal, and soon thier only business will be new customers who have yet to find out what it is like.
I must admit that now everything else is looking like the better bet.

I've got great effection for my Navman - I'm on my second one and it does all I want it to..pity that sometimes I feel let down by some of the tech staff - others have been great and I have felt that they knew what they were talking about and were willing and able to help. It's glitches, like the non-adherence to quoted times and just silly responses to technical queries, that give the Coy a bad name and it must be just as bad for the guys at the front end and those who are trying to do a good job who are let down by the production and by those who could not care less. Shame indeed _________________ Gee-Pee
