the reason I ask is with the later versions installed the TomTom Speed CAmeras do not count to the total custom POI's installed - Mike
Are you sure about that Mike. I always used to say the same thing, quoted it endlessly in fact!
Then someone posted to say it wasn't true and did tests to prove that they DID still count towards the 100 (even thought they aren't handled by the POI menu).
As I've never put the TomTom cameras on my unit, I can't prove it either way for myself...

I will double check this by rolling the 910 back to the original back-up to see what happens when I install the TT Speed Camera POI files, will let you know the result in the morning as I have no intention of sitting through a 7GB install at this time of night! - Mike

After a long search Mike, I finally found the thread, and it was on t'other forum!
The topic is HERE, and the post I was looking for is the last one on page one (post #20) by "Spook" which says:

Let me clear this up..
The TT speed cameras DO count towards the limit (of 100) user-added POI's.
It is the software version that determines how they are presented on the device (i.e.: in enable/disable POI lists, etc.). Older software versions will display them in the 'old' POI fashion, regardless of whether they are updated files or not.
However, it does not matter how they are presented when considering the limit of POI's. They are always counted, as they are ov2's.
There is a rule, and it is simple (as you hoped Andy) - "100 files with .ov2 extension, and that is it!"
It doesn't matter who provides them. Your TT will display only the first 100 POI's (with an .ov2 extension). The inbuilt POI's (in the poi.dat file) do not count towards the limit (they are not .ov2's).
Be nice to have a second confirmation though, if you can cope with the 7GB transfer!! :x
