I just programmed a route in at my house and looked to see how many sats I had (never done that before) and it said 0 at one side of the house and 3 at the other side. Could this be a problem with my gps device?

The coincidence is that it only started happening after I put these cameras on. I thought maybe if it was that somebody might've recognised the symptoms.

You need to try that with the unit in it's normal location in the car. Inside the house you would get a low number - even with a sensitive receiver. There should be no need to programme a route - you can check the reception at anytime.

But... please do as mikealder suggests - it could be down to too many active POIs

Thanks for that. Just realised that Lost Property suggested this in the 4th comment on this topic but I didn't understand what he meant. Sorry about that.

OK, I've unticked all the POI and selected them via the Manage POI and ticked warn only when POI is on route. I've got to go to Crawley, Croydon then Newark this week so it'll really test it out. I'll post results on Monday, unless I get lost without the sat nav of course.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Wow, it worked! Thanks for all the help. Although unfortunately I couldn't get a gps update for weeks and then the thing started switching itself off every few minutes as if it was using power faster than it could charge itself in the car. I've ended up borrowing my wife's Tomtom One which is so much more reliable. Not sure what I'm going to do with the ipaq. I've invested so much money in it so far by upgrading maps and repairs on it etc. I can't believe how much it's cost me, I don't know whether to cut my losses and just buy another tomtom one. I hardly ever use the other features on the ipaq so maybe I should sell it, the way it's been acting up I feel like binning it!

Cheers all.
