OK Stevie, this isn't going too well, is it? Can we let Mike get off to the bar to do some serious drinking after his hard day at the Expo? Alternatively, he may be on the road back to Blackpool?
Anyway, because you said "Layman's terms" way back, I'll try to see just where you're at and how to go forward in this.
We'll give Mike a chance to exercise his elbow by just asking you a couple of questions OK? No fancy answers please - treat me like I don't understand unless you speak loud and slow.
Starter for ten. When you "look" at the computer, what are you looking with? I'd like to hear "Windows Explorer". _________________ Dennis

Right. I've turned my volume up so you can leave out the bold.
If the following sounds childish because you already know what I'm talking about, please forgive me, but you did say Layman and I haven't seen anything in your previous posts which gives me even the faintest clue as to how much you know - doing it this way gives you the chance to get there sooner rather than later. If you already are familiar with some of it, it'll mean you get throough it quicker.
Connect your device to the computer and switch it on.
When TT Home starts, minimise (but DON'T close) it, then start Windows Explorer.
Go to the drive which says "Tom Tom" and click it to expand what you are able to see.
There is one item which is your "Map Folder". I dunno which map you've got, but it will be something like "GB and NI", or "Western Europe".
Click on it. At the top of the screen, in the menu, Click on View and in the drop down box click on Details. This should show you a list of the files in your Map Folder.
Towards the right side of the screen is a column entitled Type. Click on the word Type and you'll see all the entries below it shuffle into different order. With luck, the top set of entries will say "Bitmap Image" - being in alphabetical order. If it doesn't say "Bitmap Image", click it again to reshuffle the list into the opposite alphabetical sequence so that it does start with Bitmap Image.
To the left of this is a column entitled Name, with a long list of files. The files should names like "pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp". Notice that at the end there is a dot and "bmp". All the files in this column have some sort of dot and 3 letters.
Using the scroll bar on the right, scroll down that list until you reach filenames ending with .ov2 - These are what we're after.
If all was perfect, you'd have somewhere between approximately 24 and 40 of these. And they should ALL start with pocketgps_uk_.
If you've also got some called, for example "Autovelox_IT_50_TomTom.ov2" and "Safety_Cam_UK_30_TomTom.ov2", we're getting towards part of the problem.
Sorry I'm such a slow typist.
Question - What have you got ending .ov2? Not the full list, simply either "28 called pocketgps_uk_" or "loadsa pocketgps_uk_" but also loadsa stuff like "Autovelox xxxxxx TomTom".
It's getting late, so I hope you're not past your bedtime! _________________ Dennis

Dot an 3 letters or any names at all?
PS I forgot to say that if, during this, you come up against anything you don't understand, immediately stop and come back saying so, DON'T try to fiddle through. _________________ Dennis

I suppose you've also got the same name with .bmp on the end and anything else with another end (.ogg) perhaps??
You have NOT got any of the Autovelox or Safety Cam UK??
Anyway, you have got one set of pgpsw cameras, but not the one which has the speeds. So delete that one, together with the one/s .bmp and any other 3 letters (and let me know what it was).
You will then need to download the correct cameras - or did you by any chance download them, but fail to transfer them to your Tom Tom device??
Let's look if they're there.
You're in GB and NI or Western Europe map (or bloody Timbuctoo map - do mention it some time ). Move up to the top of the left hand column and click on "Local Disk C:" (the C will probably have brackets, but when I type them here for you, it gives me a bloody smiley instead!!) so that it's highlighted. Then at top in the menu bar click on Search. Then in the window which appears (I may get a little odd here - I've got a different version of Windows so mine may not be identical little windows and stuff) - in the window which appears, you need to answer what files to search for, so click on "All files and folders", then it gives boxes to fill in, in the one for "All or part of the filename" type [color=blue]pocketgps[/color. Make sure that in the box for "Look in" it says "Local Disk C:", then click on the lower button "Search" and the computer will then look for the files you downloaded but didn't transfer. It will list them on the right. If it does find them all, second column then says something like "C:\Documents blah blah blah" but you can't read it all. _________________ Dennis
