You're also forgetting that some of our friends on the continent have a dual speed limit system - one for dry weather and one for wet weather.

If you're relying so heavily on your GPS telling you what the speed limit is, then how do you get it to tell whether it is raining and adjust accordingly?

Would you drive off a cliff if it told you to?
